Nichirei Fresh is a company that procures, processes, and sells selected marine and poultry products from Japan and overseas. We want to deliver safe, secure, and delicious food. With this in mind, we select ingredients from about 30 countries and pass them on to retailers and manufacturers of processed products. We also offer optimal processing to suit each sales scenario, and have achieved an integrated system of procurement, production, and quality assurance on a global scale.

Our commitment to "safe, secure, and delicious food" is bottomless, and we actively participate in the production site, the upstream of the supply chain, by sometimes selecting feed for cattle, pigs, and chickens for special breeding, and sometimes visiting overseas fishing grounds to check on landed marine products. We are also involved in the poultry farming business itself. Nichirei Foods (then Nippon Reizo Inc.) was the first company in Japan to create such frozen foods, launching the cooked frozen food "Chawanmushi" in 1954, when electric refrigerators were not yet widespread. Since then, the company has evolved its cooking methods and menus to meet the changing lifestyles of consumers, creating products that solve various issues of each era.

Currently, we produce mainly frozen foods for household and commercial use, as well as retort-pouch foods, ice, and products exclusively for home delivery, all with our unique "monozukuri (manufacturing) beliefs" and with a focus on deliciousness. From the selection of ingredients to the production system, Nichirei Foods has established its own quality control rules and systems to ensure the safety and security of its products.

For example, our "chicken bouillon," which is the base of the flavor of our dishes, is made by slowly simmering carefully selected ingredients such as chicken bones and onions in a large skillet and carefully removing the scum by people. The taste of our products, made using the same method for more than 30 years, is not only used by hotels and restaurants as commercial frozen foods, but is also used in many Nichirei Foods' frozen foods for household-use, such as hamburg steak and shrimp pilaf.

In the supermarkets around you, you see a wide variety of foods in various temperature ranges, from fresh foods to frozen foods, ice cream, and more. The Nichirei Logistics Group is involved in the "cold chain," which transports food from producer to consumer at low temperatures and with optimal temperature control.

In fact, one of Nichirei's roots is in the cold storage business. Inheriting this lineage, Nichirei still has the number one refrigerated storage capacity in Japan. At its approximately 80 storage-type distribution centers nationwide, Nichirei flexibly responds to a variety of needs, including storing, freezing, sorting, and arranging cargo of food products. We can also handle distribution processing to make it easier for customers to prepare their food.

In the transportation and delivery business, we connect various locations with trunk line transportation and intra-regional delivery to ensure high quality and efficient transportation. Retail (TC) business, which sorts numerous products carried by vendors in bulk and optimizes delivery routes to retailers. In addition, we have all the functions to support the "cold chain," including the maintenance of logistics management systems and facilities.

We are also involved in the development of antigen test kits for influenza and COVID-19, and the import and sale of culture media for cell culture and genetic testing products. We play an important role in the medical field, including hospitals, clinics, medical checkup facilities, and hygiene laboratories.
